Decided to pick one of these frame caps up from my local dealer. It only fits the RIGHT SIDE of the frame! So far I have yet to find anything to cover the hole in the left side of the frame.

Yamaha Part No. 5VX-W0707-20

To be honest, the installation is very ghetto! It consists of using a supplied drywall anchor and inserting it into the center end of the bolt. The one they supplied seemed a little small and would spin inside the bolt when I tried to put the threaded rod into it. So I went to my bin of drywall anchors and found a slightly larger size (blue one) and used that instead.

The majority of the supplied threaded rod gets screwed into the drywall anchor. Only about 1/4" or less actually goes into the back of the frame cap. I used a little red Loctite on the cap end to help make it more tamper proof and secure.

I applied a little WD-40 to the O-ring.

Finished result.

Was it worth the $45.00? I don't think so but it does look better than an big hole in the frame. I'm still puzzled as to why Yamaha decided to only make a frame cap for only one side of the bike??
