RELATED MODS: Painted Gas Cap Ring
Saw that a few others have done this 'mod', so I got some satin black spray paint (not flat and not gloss) and got to work. I am VERY pleased with the results, considering I couldn't get the axle pin out in order to get my front wheel off!
Gave the forks a good clean with soap and water, then gave them the once over with some mineral spirits. Once that was done I did a super quick once over with some steel wool. I was originally going to use primer first, but ended up just laying down the black.
Anyway, here are the results.

After painting I applied 3 light coats of automotive clear coat to protect from rock chips.

After clear coating.
