If you're looking for a louder horn for your bike, look no further than the Stebel Nautilus Compact Dual-Tone 12-Volt Air Horn! At 139dB this sucker is LOUD!!!

From the web site: " Loud enough to convince other drivers that there's a derailed freight train barreling down on them. Don't press the horn button in the garage, it hurts! At 139dB it can be heard for almost 3 city blocks! "

NOTE: The Stebel is mounted incorrectly in the picture below! The air cylinder needs to be mounted and kept in the vertical (upright) position

Basic Wiring using a 12VDC Relay:

1. Wire an inline 20A fuse to the + of the battery terminal - other end to relay pin 30
2. Ground relay pin85
3. connect the + stock horn connector to relay pin 86
4. wire relay pin 87 to + on Stebel Horn
5. Ground the - connector on the Stebel horn

The correct way to do it is to use 16 or even 14 gauge wire and run that from your battery + terminal with a fuse then to pin 30 on the relay, take the stock + horn connector and put it on the pin 86 on the relay, ground pin 85 on the relay and run 16 or 14 gauge wire from the relay pin 87 to the + on the Stebel horn and ground the Stebel horn - side.

Here is a diagram of a basic relay setup and wiring

Helpful Information: Understanding How Relays Work

Mounting:

I also used Snowflare's ( SBN Forum ) location of inside the left front faring. I like the "hidden" aspect better as well as with my 'chin faring' I can't mount it down low on the left side of the engine like others have. I also personally don't like the horn just sitting out there on the side of the bike like that.

Tons of real estate in those front faring's to mount the horn, wires and relay, even with all my previous wiring and additional relays for my Watsen LED signals! I found the 'screw' that Snow was talking about using as an anchor point for the Stebel. You just unscrew it a bit until you can slide/wedge the Stebel's mount over it. I also used some cable ties to secure the horn body to the faring.

Here is a view of where the Stebel is mounted from when I had my whole front faring off during my HID Headlight installation. If you look at the screw to the left (rear) of the Stebel that has the white cable guide secured to it, well there is an identical screw to that one just under the Stebel and is what I used to "hang" it from the Stebel's mounting point. Then I secured the horn using some additional cable ties looped through the white cable guide and other mounting points.

Sound Clips

For a sound clip got the the Stebel web site: www.stebel.it select PRODUCTS , then select ELECTROPNUMATIC , then select NAUTILUS SERIES . You will find Hi and Low Res sound clips at the bottom of the page.

Trust me, these clips only give you some insight into the 'tone' of the horn...they can't give one the full effect of just how loud these things are!
