RELATED MODS: LED Rear Signal Lighting
Once again another fantastic piece of kit for the FZ6 and another quality item that I could not seem to live without. At first I was hesitant about installing "flushies" as I was concerned about reducing the visibility of the turn signals. That was quickly put to rest as soon as I saw images of how bright these little suckers form Watsen were!! Not only do the have 6 LEDS on the front side, but an additional 3 on the side/rear of the units.
Cosmetically, there is also the fact that if you look at your FZ6 head on, the factory signals and stocks seem to really stick far out from the bike and tend to ruin the clean line and look of the bike.

I wanted to also use these lights as constant on marker lights like the original FZ6 stock signals. In order to do this, you need to add in a relay for each side. You can use a standard automotive 12VDC 30Amp replay available from most electronic supply stores or Radio Shack. You need relays because the Watsen LED lights have only 2 wires. Your stock signal lights have 3 wires (1- Marker light power, 2- Signal power, 3- Ground). So in order to make them dual function as both marker and signal, you have to get a "3rd wire" to them via the relay.
This is the wiring harness I made up (one for each side). I really took my time making it including soldering each crimped connection. I highly recommend using quick disconnect type connectors at each connection point (LED lights and POD lights)

I created the following wiring diagram(s) (originally created by 'crazymofo' ) that outline several different wiring options. Since I have Blue LED's as my POD lights, I did not want to have the POD lights act as turn signals (not legal). So I use the second diagram down for my installation. This diagram image is also available in PDF format .

The next picture shows a wiring harness (left side) installed into the inside of the faring. I used adhesive cable tie mounts to secure the harness. Make sure to clean the inside area with rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits before applying the adhesive tie mounts.
IMPORTANT - make sure to try and keep the 2 resistors up an away from the faring surface. They will get warm and produce some heat. I was able to 'suspend' mine off the surface by twisting and then securing the wiring harness. I don't think they will get hot enough to say melt your faring, but one should be aware of the possible danger.
